This is an example of what I hate.

Being against gay marriage does not mean homophobia. A lot of people are against it because of their religion, but think about that for a minute. Why is that religion against it? The Gods of many religions know a great deal more than we do, and can see problems we don’t see. Could it be that same-sex marriage is simply not ideal? It’s possible to be against same-sex marriage, and not be homophobic.

Did you not see that the entire premise of this chart is to show why people think being gay is sinful and thus wrong for them to marry? This whole entire chart is debunking every single reason why people would be against it for “religious reasons”.

Also, if you are against gay marriage, then you are anti-gay. Just try and convince me otherwise.

When I posted this chart a minute ago, I didn’t realize it was already going around Tumblr. Oops. Anyways, this^ is a beautiful takedown. If you are against marriage equality, then you want to deny rights to people because of their sexuality, and that is homophobia. Sorry not sorry. If you’re against gay marriage you’re a homophobe. You can dress it up however you want, however you need to justify yourself that your decision is rational and not at all based on a faulty understanding of a religious text, but that doesn’t make it true.

Equating someone’s innate sexuality, something that defines an extremely private and personal part of who they are, to slight cosmetic issue is shallow and sad. Gay “reparative therapies” are deeply scaring and based on religious guilt and manipulation. You spent an hour unconscious in order to look better. What would you do if people tried to reform you from heterosexual to homosexual? Would you really take it so easily?

A New York City fifth-grader who won a class competition with a speech endorsing marriage equality won’t be able to deliver it in the school-wide contest.

The principal of P.S. 195 in Queens said Kameron Slade’s topic is inappropriate and this week told him to choose another one, according to Kameron’s mother, who declined to be identified further, online news channel NY1 reports.

In the speech, which Kameron recited for an NY1 taping, he described spending a day with a lesbian couple who are friends with his mother. “They have a beautiful daughter. … This family seemed like any other family. They seemed happy, and best of all, they seemed to love each other,” he said. He also said he agrees with President Obama that people should be able to marry the partner of their choice, no matter the gender.

Kameron said he was looking forward to delivering the speech, but he proceeded to work on another one, on the topic of preventing animal cruelty. Officials with the New York City Department of Education declined comment on the principal’s decision but told NY1 that Kameron will be allowed to give the same-sex marriage speech Monday in a different venue.
