Anonymous asked: It's disrespectful to trans people to say that being attracted to a binary-identified trans person who belongs to the gender to whom one is attracted (assuming someone is either gay or straight) makes you something other than gay or straight. Being attracted to a trans man as a woman, if you are generally only attracted to men, does not make that straight woman anything but straight. A trans man is a man, and it is grossly disrespectful of that man to say otherwise.

I feel where you are coming from, but I wouldn’t be too hasty about that being disrespectful.  A person is still pansexual or bisexual even if they are with the opposite sex. They can still feel that they are different/belong to a different community.  I understand if the man took offense to it, but it might not be a slap to their gender expression but more of a personal decision based on different feelings.  Though that very first post was different and only seemed to ask if they were less straight for liking a trans man… and no, they are not.
