Hating Christians because they don’t believe the same thing as you is ridiculous, and it’s exactly the same thing as homophobia. Tumblr users always brag about how open and accepting they are, but apparently it’s okay to hate Christians publicly.
I KNOW RIGHT! I thought this was a place for acceptance and love, not hate and bigotry.
If you’ve ever made a pro-life post, you know that this is NOT a place of acceptance and love. Haters start coming out of the woodwork.
Forcing someone to do something that they don’t want to with their body is always wrong, but it’s okay to do it in Catholicism apparently.
Honestly, if you’re going to go around blogging about how you know what is better for my body than I do, that you have some right to tell me what I can and can’t do with my own body, that is far more hateful than anything I or anyone else could ever say to you. Stop acting like it’s Christ-like to be judgmental and horrible to people around you. Stop acting like Christ wanted you to go around dictating what everyone can and can’t do with their bodies.
And for the love of, well, Christ, stop acting as if Christians are some poor oppressed minority. Atheists are quite literally the most hated minority in America. In seven states, it’s illegal to hold office if you’re an atheist. The Catholic Church was the most powerful institution in the world for nearly two millenia, and its corruption, sexism, and influence still reaches into every corner of the world today.
Seriously. Take a step back and look at yourself, check your privilege, and STFU.
This really assumes a lot doesn’t it?
But really, how is attacking those who are homophobic attacking Christians? There are so many Christians in this country with a varrying beliefs. This completely erases them. Just because you were offended when you were called out on YOUR beliefs (not tenents of Christianity… please point me to the bible verse on abortion and gay marriage, cause I love that game) doesn’t make you a persecuted minority here. Don’t hide your hate behind the cross and maybe people will stop getting the wrong idea about who is really hating them (ei: you, not Christians/Jesus/God).
No one should be attacked for their religion but don’t take an attack on your own judgmental attitudes as an attack on your religion. YOU HAVE CHOICES.
